Spiderman Brace
So, a few weeks ago my roommate tripped down a hill and felt her ankle pop. She then finds out a few days later that she sprained and strained her ankle. The doctor gave her a Spiderman ankle brace, that is pretty awesome, because her ankles are so small (its a kid's size brace). The doctor told her to take it easy and rest her ankle, but it is starting to feel better so she wants to start working out. I've told her a couple exercises she can do that won't put too much pressure on her ankle because I had the same injury last year. Any suggestions of machines she could use at the gym that won't stress her ankle, but will give her a good workout?

3 Weeks Left...
I can't believe there are only three weeks left of this semester. It seems like it went by so fast. I'm looking forward to the semester being over because I'll be assistant coaching a high school girls' basketball team over Christmas break and I'm really excited about it. I was worried that I wouldn't workout as much over break and get lazy and slack off, but now that I'll be coaching it will definitely help keep me in shape and encourage me to workout daily. The offer for the coaching position came out of nowhere, but I quickly accepted because I love coaching and it will definitely be a great experience for me. So, I really want these next three weeks to fly by so I can start working with the team back home.

Working Out
Thursday morning I woke up early to workout with my older sister. My family stayed at a hotel because we always go to our cousins' house for Thanksgiving break. So, my sister and I decided to get up early and workout in the workout room they have at the hotel. There were only three machines and a jump rope in the room, but it was sufficient for us. My sister was diagnosed with Lymphoma last February but, as of October, she is in remission and does not have cancer anymore, thankfully. She hasn't been able to exercise or workout since she was diagnosed though, so her body is really weak. I've been trying to help her gradually get back into shape, but she tires out really quick. We only did a short 30 minute workout on Thursday because she got winded pretty quick on the treadmill and doing crunches. She wants to be in a little better of shape before she starts going back to the gym. I've given her a few ideas of things she can do at home to start getting her body stronger, like doing leg lifts while she watches tv, lifting cans of vegetables to work her arms, and doing squats here and there. Does anyone have other ideas that could help her out? Or any fun ideas of what she can do to tone up?

Thanksgiving
11/22/2012
Today is Thanksgiving!!! This is my favorite holiday ever because I get to spend it with my extended family and friends, as well as eat a lot of delicious food. Last night my cousins and I played basketball for awhile, and today all of us are having a family softball game. Luckily, the weather is supposed to be really warm so it will be a good day to play. Every Thanksgiving we either have a family softball game, basketball game, or football game. This gets us all out of the house for a couple hours and moving around. If not, then the majority of us just sit around and keep eating. I like to exercise before and after the meal, that way I feel okay eating a lot for Thanksgiving dinner.
In about an hour there will be around 16 family members heading to the baseball field to play a pick-up game of softball. All of my cousins are athletic, so it will be a good competition. After we play a game of softball its shower time, pictures, then Thanksgiving dinner! Can't wait!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!!!
